Why Partner With Axargo

Most mangoes in the UK travel from India, Pakistan, or Brazil — weeks in transit, cold chain breaks, variable quality. Axargo is different. We source direct from growers in southern Spain, handle refrigerated logistics end to end, and deliver a product your customers can taste the difference in.

About Us

Our Story

Some of Europe's finest fruit grows along a narrow strip of the southern Spanish coastline — yet the vast majority of it never reaches the UK. Axargo was established to change that.

We are a specialist importer bringing premium mangoes directly from the Axarquía region of Andalusia to British buyers. Our goal is straightforward: to introduce the UK market to an exceptional, highly seasonal product that has, until now, remained something of a local secret.

Our Roots

Axargo is the result of a partnership that spans the entire supply chain, from the Spanish groves to the British market.

The Ground Level

Our agricultural partner is deeply embedded in the Axarquía. With a career dedicated to local farming and a role as deputy mayor of a mango-producing village, he provides us with direct, trusted access to local producers. He ensures our sourcing is authentic, ethical, and reliable.

The Commercial Framework

Our UK partner draws on a background in institutional investment banking. He brings the financial rigour and commercial structuring required to build a resilient, lasting supply business that meets the exact standards of British buyers.

The Bridge

Connecting the two is a Manchester-based partner with a degree in Mathematics and Finance — equally at home in the realities of Spanish agriculture and the operational demands of UK trade.

Together, we operate a supply chain that is inherently lean, fully transparent, and led by provenance.

The Axarquía: Europe's Mango Coast

Located just east of Málaga, where the foothills of the Betic mountains meet the Mediterranean, the Axarquía boasts a highly unusual microclimate. Warm, sheltered, and frost-free, it is the only region in Europe where mangoes are cultivated commercially at scale.

The fruit grown here is far from a standard commodity. The steep topography requires careful, manual harvesting on terraced hillsides. Because our season runs from August to November, and because of our geographic proximity, Axargo mangoes arrive in the UK within four to six days of being picked.

Unlike tropical imports from South America or South Asia — which often spend weeks in transit under refrigeration — Axarquía mangoes arrive fresh, perfectly in season, and completely traceable.

A New Standard for Provenance

Today's consumers care deeply about where their food comes from. Just as we expect transparency with our wine, our beef, or our artisan cheeses, we believe premium fruit should be held to the exact same standard.

Axargo is bringing that level of care to the mango. European-grown, seasonally harvested, and delivered fresh. It is a product defined by its quality and traceability — offering something entirely new to the UK market.
